Ljubljana
Emona, Laibach or Ljubiana are all the same names for the capital of Slovenia, Ljubljana. Located on the Ljubljanica River, a place where fascinating legends are linked. One of these legends is tied to a dragon, the main Ljubljana symbol. The story says that Argonaut, a Greek myth hero, was attacked by a monster from the lake. After a long struggle, Jason was beaten by him, one of the heroes. The monster eventually became the "Ljubljana Dragon" and became the symbol of the whole city. Ljubljana is the capital of Slovenia with about 300,000 inhabitants. The city is located in the central part of Slovenia, in the Ljubljana valley, between the Alps and the Adriatic Sea, on the Ljubljanica River, approximately 10 km from its mouth in Sava. Ljubljana is the cultural, economic, political and administrative center of Slovenia.
